Music Success in Nine Weeks – Book Review and Case Study

Post image for Music Success in Nine Weeks – Book Review and Case Study

Music Success in Nine Weeks, is the workbook for musicians that helped me to clarify my direction as a recording artist. It is by far the one of the simplest and most practical guides to gaining clear direction for active musicians who want to gain structure and direction with their efforts.

The Price

$34.99 downloadable e-book

What You Will Get

The objectives of Ariel Hyatt’s 179-page e-book are clear.

Music Success in Nine Weeks will help you:

  • Define your brand as group or individual musician
  • Find ways to earn and sustain more income through your music
  • Understand how to achieve success in the new music industry

The book is broken in to nine week segments, some of which have been recently updated, that cover your “perfect pitch”, optimising your website, understanding social media and how to build your mailing list. It’s written for musicians so all of this good stuff is aimed at funneling your artistic creativity in to action.

Once you’ve bought the book you can get access to the CyberPR Mastermind Forum which is particularly useful for brainstorming new ideas with other readers who are also artists. I found it easy to make valuable connections, including producers, and friends through this forum since buying the book last year for CyberPR’s blog challenge.

Good Stuff

Having been in this game for over three decades I was surprised at how much has changed in the way music fans now connect with artists. Music Success in Nine Weeks is a great way to transfer your skills if you are ‘old school’ to ‘new school’. The new music industry is now very much a digital environment and this book helps you to grasp some of the concepts and terminology of the digital age for musicians. I found I was able to rapidly update my own skills and understanding as well as seriously consider which direction my career was going.

I got great value from every week of the book, you can see my progress here. I can never do enough goal-setting or review and I always like to learn more about social media and networking. It’s all in here. Where it wasn’t revision it was new ideas and techniques to adopt and evolve.

In nine weeks I gained 57 new fans and shot up the rock chart on ReverbNation. My music is niche so if you’re a regular gigging artist (I am no longer) with a broad appeal you could easily reap way more.

Not So Good Stuff

There’s little I can fault with Music Success in Nine Weeks. In terms of value for money it’s spot on. Providing you take action and follow through on all the exercises presented in the book, you will unquestionably gain return on your investment through a better understanding of where you’re going, where the music industry is going and what you need to do marketing yourself as a modern musician.

If you’re a musician who’s not willing to take career-oriented action then it’s not for you.

Rob:
Myself, I’m not so musical. I’m going to send this review to one of my musical friends.
Wishing you much success.
